Membership
Membership in PREA is at the firm level. The benefits of membership, including access to high-quality research and publications as well as discounted conference attendance rates, apply to individuals chosen by each firm to serve as member representatives.

Membership in PREA is valuable to anyone involved in institutional real estate investment. The Association is a key provider and resource for up-to-date investment information, and a destination for investors who use our publications, forums and media to keep informed of industry trends and to stay connected to colleagues.

Corporate

Full Corporate
(One voting representative and unlimited adjunct representatives)

Those eligible for Full, Standard, or Basic Corporate membership are organizations that provide investment management, advisory, consulting, property management, legal, accounting, appraisal or other services to corporate and public pension funds, endowments, foundations, Taft Hartley plans and other institutional investors. This category includes, among others, REITs and real estate operating companies.


Institutional Investor — For Profit
(One voting representative and unlimited adjunct representatives)

Those eligible for the Institutional Investor — For Profit membership are for profit organizations that invest predominantly for their own account (at least 80% of total real estate assets invested). This category would include, for example, insurance companies investing predominantly for their general account and family investment offices.

Institutional Investor — Not For Profit

Those eligible for Institutional Investor — Not for Profit membership are not for profit organizations that invest predominantly for their own account (at least 80% of total real estate assets invested), such as, corporate and public pension funds, endowments, foundations, Taft Hartley plans and comparable international investors.

Academic Institution

Those eligible for the above membership rate are higher learning institutions focused on real estate and finance.

Voting Representative

The voting representative is the one representative from every member firm that can vote for our Board of Directors.  They are also considered the main company contact for the PREA membership and will receive the annual dues invoice for payment processing.  In addition, they direct which representatives should be added or deleted under the company membership.
